Terms of service

MagicalGhostWriter ("the service", "we") is a voice-driven writing and rehearsal app. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

Your account

• Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• You must be at least 16, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
• One person per account. Don't share accounts or resell the service.

Plans and payment

• Free: 2 hours a month. Writer: $20 a month for 30 hours. Extra hours: $5 for 5 hours, kept until used. Prices are in US dollars and may include tax where required.
• An hour is 60 minutes in which you spoke into the app or it worked on your text with an AI model. A minute using the larger model (Opus) counts as two.
• Monthly hours reset at the start of each calendar month and don't carry over. Extra hours are used after your monthly hours and don't expire while your account exists.
• Writer renews every month until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page; you keep Writer until the end of the period you paid for.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your card number.
• Refunds: if something went wrong, write to us within 14 days of a charge and we'll make it right. Hours already used aren't refunded, except where the law says otherwise.
• If we change prices, we'll tell you at least 30 days before the change affects you.

Your writing

• What you write is yours. We claim no ownership of it.
• You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you: saving it, showing it to you, and sending the parts needed to the AI services listed in the privacy policy.
• Suggestions and edits the AI makes to your text are yours to use as you like.

Acceptable use

• Don't use the service to break the law, to harm others, or to try to break into or overload it.
• Don't use it to produce content that the AI providers' usage policies forbid.
• We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we'll warn you first.

The AI and the service

• AI edits can be wrong. Read what it changed before you rely on it; every change can be undone, and your history is kept.
• We work to keep the service running and your writing safe, but we provide it "as is", without warranties, to the extent the law allows.
• To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending

• You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. Ask us and we'll delete your account and writing.
• If we ever shut the service down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice to export your writing, and refund unused paid time.
